Annual Parish Meeting - Monday 30th April 2018

Taking place at the Millennium Village Centre, Scaynes Hill at 20.00hr. This meeting will afford residents the opportunity to meet the Councillors who will report on this year’s business. There will be guest speakers and an opportunity for residents to raise any questions. A glass of wine will be offered from 19.45hr and all residents are welcome.

Allotments available

The Parish Council are pleased to inform that the waiting list for allotments is now open at its sites in Gravelye Lane, Lindfield and Clearwater Lane, Scaynes Hill. Applications are welcome from both within and outside the parish. Please contact the Parish Office (831499) if you are interested.

 

Mobile Civic Amenity Collections

The Parish Council provides a refuse freighter for a FREE COLLECTION of general Household Waste on the following dates:

Sunday 11 February 2018

Sunday 29 April 2018

Sunday 1 July 2018

Sunday 16 September 2018

Sunday 4 November 2018

Sunday 20 January 2019

Between 10.00 and 12.00 noon at the North End, Scaynes Hill Common.

No trade or builders' waste will be accepted. Please do not leave rubbish in the absence of the refuse freighter. Thank you.

 

Notice from Mid Sussex District Council

We cannot take these items at Mobile Waste Collections:

• Electrical items

• Tyres

• Rubble & Hardcore (e.g. paving stones, gravel, concrete, bricks, tiles)

• Items such as ceramic baths & shower trays, toilet pans & sinks

• Gas canisters

• Paint pots with any contents

• Garden waste (unless a separate vehicle is provided)

Please take these items to a Household Waste and Recycling Site. Please note there will be a charge for disposal of some of these items.

Free Computer Help: one-to-one IT sessions for the over 60s

Traffic Calming and Highways Issues

The Council has agreed to introduce a traffic Speed Indicator Device to encourage motorists to adhere to the speed restrictions in the Gravelye Lane area. The device may be moved to other locations.

The Council does raise other issues on behalf of local residents with the Highways Authority, which is West Sussex County Council. The Parish Council also reports a number of minor matters to WSCC, on behalf of residents. Residents may also do this themselves, details are on the West Sussex website www.westsussex.gov.uk, reports may be made directly to love.westsussex.gov.uk concerning pot holes, overgrown vegetation and damaged pavements etc.
